Why sanitizers over hand wash?
Because of attention given by media to issues like that of H1N1 and other pandemics, people are now more aware of cleanliness, hygiene and its importance. With increase in awareness there is also sudden unexpected increase in use of hand sanitizers and other cleaning products. Are hand sanitizers as effective as, or are they superior to hand washes for washing hands? Well many in answers to this question says that it depends. In order to answer this question you are first supposed to understand the difference between the functionalities of hand wash and hand sanitizers. A hand wash basically removes dirt and germs off your hands and doesn't kill them. When you wash your hands with soap and water the dirt, dust and germs sitting on and entrapped in the natural oils of your hands gets lifted up and are rinsed away with water.
